I am selling a baseball card from my childhood collection. I am not sure what grade this card would receive, so I will let the scans speak for themselves. You will receive the card in the scan, 1960 #292 DODGER BACKSTOPS PIGNATANO AND ROSEBORO TOPPS BASEBALL CARD. When Roy Campanella suffered his tragic accident in January 1958, the Dodgers were dealt a tremendous blow. Campy was one of the finest offensive and defensive backstops in the game. Luckily they had two men on whom they could rely - Roseboro and Pignatano. John who had played only 35 games with the Dodgers in 1957 was pressed into service and he did a fine job. He hit .271 , clouted 14 homers and drove in 43 runs in 114 games. He led the club in triples and stole 11 bases. Joe Pignatano was a defensive genius in 1958. He went through the season without committing an error and the year before only charged with one. Not a renowned slugger, Joe got his share of circuit blows. His 9 round - trippers in 1958 was good for 63 games played. This card has been placed in a new Collector Safe polypropylene card sleeve (2 5/8" x 3 3/4") and then placed in a new Collector Protector (3" x 4"). Thank you for taking a look.
